Outreach Exceptional Learning Academy is committed to educating and equipping students, empowering them to gain knowledge, faith, and to use their talents. OELA strives to provide a nurturing yet challenging and exciting academic environment that has earned excellence.
At OELA, every child is recognized in his or her unique way. The goal is to support families in the surrounding communities by helping all students to discover and defend the truth, develop their gifts, and discover their full potential: intellectually, physically, and spiritually.
The motto of OELA is "We Soar To Excellence." With this motto, OELA believes in training its students to become leaders of tomorrow.

"We Soar To Excellence"
Our mission is to develop the young minds to be practical and creative, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their levels. We stress each child's total development; intellectual, social, emotional, respectable, spiritual, and physical.
OELA recognizes that each student is an individual, that all children are creative, and that all children need to succeed.
OELA strives to have our teachers, parents, and the community members actively involved in our student learning.
Dr. James E. Sims is the founder of Outreach Exceptional Learning Academy, which started as an Outreach Daycare Center. With seeing the youth in the community becoming victims of illiteracy, poverty, broken homes, and single-parent households, Dr. James E. Sims, saw the positive benefits of developing an institution that provides quality education.
This institution will provide a haven for the students and programs that can become the community's foundation and the leading source in education in the south suburban communities. In 2009, Dr. James E.Sims, with a vision in mind, remodeled the institution to a private school, which includes pre-kindergarten to eighth grade, and in 2011 he extended it to a high school. Dr. James E.Sims believes that a child is better teachable and learns through a haven environment.
"Purpose of the thing is in the mind of the maker, and the purpose is what is wanted to make the maker make the thing" Dr. James E. Sims
Dr. James E. Sims is striving to build a gymnasium for the students attached to the school. This gymnasium will also service children through the surrounding communities. It will provide a haven for the children.
No two students have the same skills or learning styles. That's why we create an individual learning plan for every child. Your plan will combine direct instruction, small-group work, and one-on-one tutoring in a way that works for your student.
